Dr Flavio Kottar graduated from Columbia University College of Dental Medicine in New York City at the top of his class in 2010.
After graduation, Dr Kottar completed a one-year General Practice Residency at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY. There, he was able to expand his diagnostic and surgical skills, as well as tending to the dental needs of special needs patients in the operating room under general anesthesia.
Subsequently, he received his Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies (CAGS) in Advanced Education in General Dentistry from Boston University. During this additional year of residency, Dr Kottar received extensive training and experience in cosmetic and implant dentistry, as well as in the multi-disciplinary treatment planning of complex cases, including dental veneers, implant restorations and oral rehabilitation.
After two years in private practice in the Philadelphia area, Dr Kottar relocated to Florida. Since then, Dr Kottar has become a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD), a recognition obtained by completing over 500 hours of continuing education and completing a rigorous examination covering all aspects of dentistry.
In his spare time, Dr Kottar enjoys traveling and dining with his wife Patty, who is an orthodontist.
